I don't remember ever making a blog but apparently I have one. Regardless, I
shall make the most of this moment. The name is adequate, there aren't any ads
because I do this not for money but rather for e-fame. And is there anything
more glorious than being famous on the internet? I didn't think so.
And so here I am with a bit of content. Worm Ouroboros's self titled album
has been one of my favorites lately. The delicious female vocals combined with
elements of post rock and doom metal enthralled me from the first listen. In
fact, I'd go as far as to say that Riverbed, track six of this album, is
probably one of my favorite songs ever.
I always felt like the biggest problem with my old style of reviewing music
came with a formula of "Artist - Album Name ---->Metaphor / simile
---->bad pun, this album is great / terrible, blah blah blah, filer, more
puns, etc." Now I must try to differ from this if I am ever to become
truly e-famous for reviewing music. But that's the problem, I don't know anything
about music. Am I even qualified for this? People keep telling me I am. But
here I am. I cringe at some of the things I said on my last blog, I hope I can
repent to the gods of music.
But enough about me (then again, is it ever enough about me? Ah yes, there's
that blatant narcissism that everybody loves from Some Guy. Or do they? Wait I
said that was it about me. Ok ok, back to Worm Ouroboros. The sound of this
band would best be described as "ethereal". Yeah, that's a good
enough adjective. Female vocals over post rockishness into doom tinged metal
passages will please the ears of a person attuned to either genre. Despite
being metal technically I would certainly describe this more towards post rock.
But does anybody really care about genres and shit? I remember when my music
folder was organized by genre. I gave up on that shit after like a year. Fuck
that.
Anyways, I would certainly
recommend Worm Ouroboros's
album of the same name. Why would I be writing about if I didn't like it? That
is not a great way to get page views now is it? Anyways, if you came here for
the download link it lies below. Enjoy, internet.
Here's a Youtube sample first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnivZdY4rt4
The song I actually wanted to link didn't seem to be on Youtube and I was not about getting it up there myself. I'm far too lazy. I already uploaded this shit to Mega (the cool new way to pirate shit now that mediafire became jerks and megaupload died).
Here's the whole album:

(If the download link doesn't work just yell at me somewhere, I've never uploaded anything to Mega before, I don't know if it works just like it seems to.
